Jahnavi Sharma, B.A. (Hons), (CIT)
provides a warm, compassionate space where clients feel genuinely seen and respected. Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and collaborative, emphasizing a strong therapeutic alliance while helping clients move beyond symptom management toward greater self-understanding, alignment with their personal values, and a more authentic sense of self. Jahnavi believes meaningful therapy is built on shared accountability, where therapist and client actively engage in the therapeutic process while recognizing that the client is the expert on their own inner world. Rather than prescribing solutions, she strives to create a safe space where clients can develop insight, reconnect with their strengths, and discover their innate capacity for change.
Jahnavi is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. She has experience supporting adolescents and adults in community mental health, crisis intervention, and university-based support settings. Her clinical interests include anxiety, ADHD, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem, grief, trauma, substance use, and neurodiversity-affirming care. She also has a growing passion for women’s mental health and perinatal mental health and will complete the Perinatal Mental Health Certificate Training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in December 2026. Her interest stems from a deep appreciation for the profound emotional, psychological, and physiological changes that accompany pregnancy and early parenthood, as well as the belief that women deserve spaces where they feel truly supported throughout one of life’s most transformative transitions.
Jahnavi utilizes an integrative, evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing primarily from Person-Centered and Adlerian therapies while incorporating techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and strengths-based interventions. She believes therapy should be tailored to each individual rather than confined to a single therapeutic model, recognizing that healing looks different for everyone. Guided by a holistic lens of wellbeing, she considers the emotional, relational, cultural, spiritual, and environmental factors that shape mental health. Above all, she hopes her clients leave therapy with lasting, practical tools to navigate future conflict, and the self-confidence to continue growing long after therapy has ended.
