Lyssa Wopat, CIT, CMPC
provides a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore themselves, to heal, and to grow. She takes an integrative approach, drawing from acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy, among other modalities. Lyssa adjusts her approach to meet each client’s unique needs and preferences. She believes clients are the true expert on themselves and seeks to support them on their journeys towards change and goals that are meaningful and valuable to them.
Lyssa holds a master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology from Lock Haven University and is currently pursuing a master’s in clinical mental health counseling at Johns Hopkins University.
She has experience working with performers and athletes, supporting them to perform to their potential more consistently, to enjoy their craft more fully, and to promote well-being, all through mental skills training. Lyssa is interested in working with adolescents and adults from all backgrounds who may be experiencing anxiety, body image concerns, eating disorders, depression, self-esteem issues, and adjustment disorders. In addition to working with individuals experiencing symptoms of mental health conditions, Lyssa seeks to support client’s growth, keeping their values and goals at the forefront of therapy. She believes in a holistic approach to treatment that incorporates emotional, physical, spiritual, cultural, and social aspects of life. Lyssa is committed to walking alongside her clients on their paths towards growth, healing, resilience, and well-being.
