Meet the Providers:

Timika Fisher, PMHNP, earned her undergraduate degree from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She went on to complete a Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Maryland. She then expanded her skills and education as a Family nurse practitioner through a postgraduate certification at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Heath Nurse Practitioner at George Washington University. Education has always shaped Timika’s path.

Timika’s holistic approach encompasses the preventive, acute care, and chronic disease management that people need as they move through the phases of life as well as the emotional and mental health support needed to help navigate life’s challenges. Timika believes mental health support is the foundation of overall wellbeing. 

Patient education is woven into every interaction, and Timika views her role as a partner in each patient’s health journey. Building lasting relationships with those in her care allows Timika to help patients feel empowered to take charge of their health and wellness and maintain independence well into retirement years and beyond.

Olayemi Ayilegbe, PMHNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 12 years of nursing experience in various health care settings. She completed her undergraduate studies at Southeast Missouri University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then received a master’s degree in nursing informatics from the University of Maryland followed by a Master’s of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Frontier University. She currently works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner; she is a compassionate provider who is committed to delivering care that is empathetic, non-judgmental, and patient-centered. Over the past year, Olayemi has offered evidence-based treatment that is tailored to the unique needs of each patient with medication management and psychotherapy.

Akhere Gwan, PMHNP, RN, sees each patient as a unique individual and considers their holistic circumstances when evaluating their mental health. She sees assessing patients as a process of better understanding their needs. Akhere always discusses different treatment options with patients, creating an individualized care plan that will meet their needs. She sees education and supporting her patients as part of her role.

Akhere makes a point to listen and try to understand patients’ needs beyond simply prescribing medication. She sees the decision-making process as collaborative, educating the patient throughout the process as she combines medication and psychotherapy for the best results. Akhere treats anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, insomnia, mood disorders, and other psychiatric and mental health problems. In her spare time, Akhere enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
